Book 1 in the Thabo: Detektiv und Gentleman series

Agatha Christie meets Emil and the Detectives!

Set in an unnamed country in southern Africa, this is the first book in a trilogy.

The story is narrated by Thabo, who lives with his uncle at the Lion Park game reserve, where his uncle works as a ranger.  Thabo really wants to be a private investigator when he is older but unfortunately, there isn’t really much crime where he lives.  Little does he know, things are about to change.

One day while taking tourists out on safari with his uncle, they find a dead rhino.  Poachers have killed the animal for its horn, which is worth lots and lots of money.  Who would do such a terrible thing?  And might it have been one of the tourists? Thabo doesn’t hesitate and sets about investigating with his best friend, Sifiso.

Thabo’s unique voice draws the reader deep into the African landscape and into the reality of the people and children who live there. Both compelling and engaging, this is a new masterpiece from Kirsten Boie.

The second title in the series will deal with the tough subject of child trafficking, and in the third, Thabo and his friends will have to deal with a case involving cannabis.
