Carson McCullers (Estate)
Carson McCullers (1917 – 1967) was an American novelist, short story writer, playwright, essayist, and poet, born in Georgia, USA in February 1917. Her debut novel, The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, published in 1940 when the author was only 23 years old, made McCullers an overnight sensation and has since been adapted both on stage and screen. Her other published works include the novels Reflections in a Golden Eye (1941), The Member of the Wedding (1946), Clock Without Hands (1961) and a collection of stories, entitled The Ballad of the Sad Cafe (1951).
