Sharon Jones
Back in high school, Sharon used to spend hours co-writing stories with one of her best mates. They were the Anne Shirley and Diana Barry of Lancashire. Although most people grow out of making up stories, Sharon never did.
While studying for a degree in politics and then a masters in theology she worked in two independent bookshops where she developed a love of young adult fiction. Sharon gained a doctorate in the theology of story whilst being den mother to 500 undergraduates and has taught courses on everything from philosophy of education to the history of Neo-Paganism. She also supervised a thesis on The Lord of the Rings having never actually read it. (Shhhhhh!)
Sharon is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators and an extract from Dead Jealous was chosen from over 150 submissions to be included in SCBWI’s Undiscovered Voices Anthology, 2012.
Having lived in Liverpool, Cambridge, Warwick and Colchester, she now lives back in her native Lancashire with a giant white poodle, Harvey.
