Sarah Forbes
Sarah Forbes was born in Aberdeen and worked as a magazine journalist before moving into book publishing as a fiction editor. She is the author of the Elspeth Hart children’s trilogy (Stripes) and My Granny Is a Crocodile (Harper Collins Big Cat). Her debut novel for adults, Aren’t We Lucky, was released as an Audible Original in 2025, narrated by Nicola Coughlan of Derry Girls and Bridgerton fame.
As a poet, Sarah is a Keats-Shelley Prize finalist and the winner of the Callum Macdonald Award, and her first poetry collection, Devour Everything, is published by Tapsalteerie in February 2026.
She lives in Edinburgh, where she is Director of the Lighthouse Literary Consultancy.
