Con joined Andrew Nurnberg Associates in 2025 after a career as an editor, primarily at Penguin Random House – most recently as Editorial Director at Viking/Penguin, and previously at The Bodley Head. He’s worked with a wide range of bestselling and prize-winning authors of upmarket non-fiction and was recognised as a Bookseller Rising Star in 2023.

History and politics: Con was part of editorial teams behind #1 bestsellers from Antony Beevor to President Obama, commissioned works by bestselling historians from Julia Boyd to Simon Jenkins, and has work forthcoming from historians such as Freddy Foks and Bérénice Guyot-Réchard.
Ideas and social science: Con helped bring to publication influential books by Daron Acemoglu & James A. Robinson and Steven Levitsky & Daniel Ziblatt. He also worked with authors including Ibram X. He also edited Vaclav Smil’s first New York Times bestseller and led the team that helped Smil’s work reach 35 languages and sell hundreds of thousands of copies worldwide. Con has work forthcoming from scientists such as Vaclav Smil and Adam Hart.
Culture and the arts: He has commissioned writers including Richard Coles and Will Gompertz, and worked on books from the estates of John le Carré and Spike Milligan. He has work forthcoming on subjects ranging from Shakespeare to ultra-cycling.
