Ahmed Saadawi's FRANKENSTEIN IN BAGHDAD longlisted for The Man Booker International Prize 2018

Huge congratulations to Ahmed Saadawi, whose English edition of Frankenstein in Baghdad, translated by Jonathan Wright, has been longlisted for The Man Booker International Prize 2018.
From 2016 the Man Booker International Prize has evolved to encourage more publishing and reading of quality fiction in translation. The prize is awarded annually on the basis of a single book. The judges for this years’ award include prize-winning writer, novelist, cultural commentator, and Chair of the Royal Society of Literature Lisa Appignanesi, as well as authors Hari Kunzru and Helen Oyeyemi, poet, reviewer and translator Michael Hofmann and journalist and critic of contemporary fiction Tim Martin.
The shortlist will be announced on the 12th April, and the winner on the 22nd May 2018.
