Yulia Volokhova
Julia Volokhova was born in Norilsk. She studied philology at the Siberian Federal University (Krasnoyarsk) and religious and cultural studies at the Russian State University for the Humanities (Moscow).
She is currently an independent scholar and works as an editor for the Laboratory of Unnecessary Things at the Moscow Independent University.
She has been researching the life and work of Vasily Grossman since 2014, working in public and private archives, including the Grossman family archive. She has contributed to the publication of previously unknown texts by the writer, and prepared for publication the updated editions of The People Immortal and The Years of War, as well as the first edition of Grossman’s correspondence.
