Smita Tharoor
Smita was born in India and grew up in Bombay, Calcutta and Delhi and comes from rural Kerala. She currently lives in London. Living in secular India taught her the value of tolerance and the appreciation of accepting differences.
Smita is a consultant, trainer, coach and mentor about unconscious bias and how it influences us. Whether speaking to 700 women at a gender conference in India, at Bradford Literary festival or at a BAME conference in London, Smita is empowering and inspiring. She is known as a thought-leader about bias who connects with an audience on a personal level. She is currently developing a podcast series on the Unconscious Bias, interviewing people around the world to share their stories.
She is passionate about diversity and cross-cultural competence. Her experience working in the UK, USA, Europe and India gives her a unique advantage in understanding the expectations and needs of different cultures.
