Sjeng Scheijen
Sjeng Scheijen is an independent scholar and historian of Russian art. He has curated a number of exhibitions, notably ‘Russian Landscape in the Age of Tolstoy’ at the National Gallery, London. He was an advisor on the major exhibition on Diaghilev and the Ballet Russes at the Victoria and Albert Museum in 2010. He has also been cultural attaché at the Royal Netherlands Embassy in Moscow. His biography of Diaghilev was published in 2009. His most recent work, The Avant-Gardists, was published in 2019 and was awarded the Bookspot Literatuurprijs Prize in November of the same year. He lives in Amsterdam.
