Siobhan MacGowan

Born in the UK, to Irish parents, Siobhan began her writing career at the Kent & Sussex Courier, freelancing for music magazines, Smash Hits & Record Mirror and copywriting for advertising agencies. She has since written for many publications, including the Irish Times & Sunday Times. Before relocating to Ireland, Siobhan worked for her brother, Shane’s band The Pogues as editor of their fanzine.
In Dublin she travelled as Van Morrison’s personal assistant in the USA & Europe and released her own album Chariot a Hot Press critics’ choice & recommended by Virgin.
Her children’s story Etain’s Dream was serialised in regional press and in 2022 she published her debut novel The Trial of Lotta Rae a Times best new historical pick, followed by the similarly critically acclaimed The Graces in 2023. She is currently working on her third novel.
