Olive Morris
Olive has spent the last decade in academia, gaining an MPhil in medieval archaeology from Cambridge University and an MPhil in early medieval history and Arthurian literature from Bristol University. Olive’s research focused on early medieval magical women in an attempt to bring fantasy to life, but she now writes fantasy fiction instead, fulfilling her lifelong dream.
When Olive isn’t writing she is a secondary school librarian and loves encouraging her students to read and write their own stories, as well as playing Dungeons and Dragons.
Olive can also be heard narrating and voice-acting at large-scale live events across the UK as well as writing for zines and speaking on her academic subject, including on the Crow’s Nest stage at Glastonbury Festival. Olive’s YA cosy fantasy was shortlisted for The Times Chicken House Competition 2025.
You will most likely find Olive wandering in ancient woodlands, collecting trinkets and devouring books. She lives in a cottage in the woods with her husband and rescue Shih Tzu, Jester (her muse).
