Nadeem Perera

Nadeem Perera is a wildlife TV presenter, author, activist and co-founder of the birdwatching collective, Flock Together. Born and raised in London, Nadeem’s love of nature expressed itself at an early age when it helped him to overcome mental roadblocks and trauma. In 2020, together with Creative Director Ollie Olanipekun, he co-founded Flock Together, a birdwatching collective which encourages people of colour to get out and enjoy nature, support each other and look after their mental health. As a passionate Youth Sport Coach, he continues to support schools and young people in his community in North East London.

Nadeem has always used writing as a way to make sense of the world around him. In 2022, his co-authored book Outsiders (Octopus Publishing) was published. Part memoir, part manifesto, Outsiders is a call-to-action for us all to reconnect to our natural environment.

Nadeem is also making waves as a new face of wildlife television with recent appearances on Springwatch, Winterwatch and The One Show. Nadeem has also appeared on One Zoo Three.. Goes Wild in Britain on CBBC. A much sought-after voice in the wildlife industry and beyond, Nadeem has spoken at many public events for commercial brands and charities including Wildscreen Film Festival, PUMA and the WWF. Nadeem is also an Ambassador for the RSPB.
