Melissa Quashie
Melissa Quashie is a Black British Ghanaian who works as a Publicity Manager for a global film studio and is also a chapter book author for young readers.
Having noticed the limited range of children’s chapter books leading with Black characters, coupled with her wealth of experience publicising films and TV shows, including for children and families, Melissa decided to write her own, full of adventure, culture and history, celebrating Ghanaian heritage for all children to enjoy.
Melissa has been longlisted for the Undiscovered Voices 2024 anthology and shortlisted for an editor’s session on the award-winning Penguin Random House programme Write Now in 2020. When Melissa is not writing, she enjoys attending exhibitions, music concerts and is a mentor for her former university, the London College of Communication, working with undergraduate and postgraduate students who aspire to pursue careers in the entertainment PR industry. Melissa Quashie is represented by Gyamfia Osei.
