Jonathan Rugman
Jonathan Rugman is the author of The Killing in the Consulate, an investigation into the murder of the Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi in Istanbul. The Financial Times called it a ‘superb account of this horrendous affair’. He has been a roving foreign correspondent with Channel 4 News since 2006, covering many conflicts of recent years, including Syria, Israel, Iraq and the Arab Spring. He previously covered the Americas for Channel 4 News from Washington DC. He has reported from over 50 countries and his journalism has won 15 awards, including a BAFTA after the terrorist attacks in Paris in 2015. Early on in his career, he was based in Turkey for The Guardian and The Observer as well as BBC Radio and TV. He studied English Literature at Cambridge University and maintains a particular interest in the Middle East.
