Henry Power
Henry Power was born in London in 1979, and grew up in Sussex. He read Classics and English at Brasenose College, Oxford, and his Cambridge PhD looked at ancient influences on the early English novel.
Now Professor of English at the University of Exeter, his particular interest is in the afterlife of Greek and Roman texts and ideas, and the way they have helped shape the literature of the English-speaking world. Other topics on which he has recently written include modern Greek literature, neo-Latin verse, the history of the essay, Victorian novels, contemporary poetry, and recipe books.
