Raja Alem's THE DOVE'S NECKLACE shortlisted for 2017 Saif Bhobash Banipal Prize

Congratulations to Raja Alem, whose English edition of THE DOVE’S NECKLACE, translated by Katharine Halls and Adam Talib, has been shortlisted for the 2017 Saif Bhobash Banipal Prize, along with three other titles.  The prize places a welcome focus on the translators as well as the authors, and is judged by a panel comprising of the writer and literary figure Dr Alistair Niven (Chair), author and editor Peter Kalu, Professor of Arabic at SOAS Wen-chin Ouyang, and journalist Salam Sarhan.
