Born and raised in Washington, Indiana, a small town in the Midwestern United States, Sara graduated from Indiana University with degrees in journalism and psychology. For the next 13 years she worked in PR for a variety of organisations, before moving to London to marry her British sweetheart. In London she became a part-time PR consultant, freelance writer and student. In 2006 she graduated from Goldsmith’s with a Masters degree in creative and life writing, in which she earned a distinction.
Sara now works as a freelance writer and editor for Working Partners, a London-based company creating series fiction for children. She currently volunteers for SCBWI-British Isles, hosting bi-monthly events for writers interested in children’s literature. She has served as editor on two anthologies: Goldfish, the first anthology of Goldsmiths College’s creative and life writing programme, and Undiscovered Voices, a collection of writing from unpublished SCBWI members in the UK.
