Connor joined Andrew Nurnberg Associates in 2025 after a career as an editor, primarily at Penguin Random House – most recently as Editorial Director at Viking/Penguin, and previously at The Bodley Head. He has worked with a wide range of bestselling and prize-winning authors of upmarket non-fiction and was recognised as a Bookseller Rising Star in 2023.

Highlights

History & archaeology: He commissioned books by bestselling historians including Julia Boyd, Simon Jenkins, and Sinclair McKay, published archaeologists such as Chris Gosden and Tom Higham, led fast turnarounds such as the UK edition of Timothy Snyder’s On Tyranny and On Ukraine, and cut his teeth as part of editorial teams behind #1 bestsellers from Antony Beevor to President Obama. Forthcoming work includes historians Freddy Foks and Alex J. Kay.

Politics, philosophy & economics: Connor has published A.C. Grayling – whom he now represents – Ben Ansell, Ibram X. Kendi, and Chelsea Manning.  He published an updated edition of Francis Fukuyama’s The End of History and was part of editorial teams that brought influential books to publication by Daron Acemoglu & James A. Robinson and Steven Levitsky & Daniel Ziblatt. Forthcoming work includes authors such as Bérénice Guyot-Réchard and Friederike Otto.

Psychology & neuroscience: He has edited books by professors Dana Carney, Russell Foster, Shane O’Mara, Charles Spence, and Chris Summerfield, as well as emerging pathbreakers such as Leor Zmigrod and skilled synthesists such as journalist Kate Murphy. Forthcoming work includes Francesco Pagnini and Adam Zeman.

Science, health & technology: He has published bestselling academics such as Kate Kitagawa, Mark Miodownik, Luke O’Neill, Devi Sridhar, and Vaclav Smil, whom he now represents. Forthcoming work includes Vaclav Smil and Adam Hart.

Arts & culture: As an editor, he published Will Gompertz, worked with the estates of Mahatma Gandhi, John le Carré, and Spike Milligan, and commissioned works from Richard Coles and the British Army.
