Lee Weatherly
Lee Weatherly grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas, and has wanted to be an author since writing her first story at the age of five. The many jobs she’s had along the way include being an au pair, a desk clerk at the Grand Canyon, a hostess in an après ski lounge (halfway up a mountain reachable only by ski lift – no, she can’t ski) and assistant to a film and TV agent.
She’s now an award-winning author of over 50 books for children and young adults, whose work has been published in more than 10 different languages. Lee’s bestselling YA trilogy Angel has sold over a third of a million copies worldwide. Her most recent YA trilogy, the Broken series, is “an exhilarating epic of deception, heartbreak and rebellion, set in a daring and distorted echo of 1940s America”. Book one, Broken Sky, won the 2017 Leeds Book Award in the 14-16 age category.
Lee lives in the Scottish Borders with her husband and cat, where she avoids the DIY needed on their rambling Victorian home and drinks far too much coffee. She’s currently working on something deliciously dark and gothic.
