Joanne Rush was born in 1983. She holds a PhD in Renaissance Literature from Cambridge University. She also studied in Rome and Paris, and completed an internship at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London. A frequent traveller in Eastern Europe, she recently worked in Bosnia-Herzegovina as assistant director of a multilingual Twelfth Night. She is currently working on her first novel, which reflects her interest in the history of the Balkans.
Joanne’s short story Guests won The Fiction Desk’s 2013 ghost stories competition and has been anthologised in Best British Short Stories 2014 and Ghost: 100 Stories to Read with the Lights On (2015).
