Donato Carrisi was born in Puglia, and currently lives in Rome. Following a law degree at university, and further studies in criminology and behavioural science, he became a scriptwriter for TV series and film. He is a contributor to the Corriere della Sera and author of eight international novels, all published in Italy by Longanesi and sold in more than 30 languages. Carrisi wrote and presented the Saturday evening prime-time TV programme ‘The Sixth Sense’ on Rai 3. In 2016, Donato announced the launch of his own production company, Gavila, in collaboration with Italy’s Colorado Films. His novel La ragazza nella nebbia (The Girl in the Fog) is now a major international film, starring Toni Servillo and Jean Reno, and is the author’s directorial debut. It won the David di Donatello Prize for best debut director and the Kineo prize – Diamanti al cinema at Venice Film Festival for best movie.
