WAITING FOR GONZO shortlisted for the German Youth Literary Prize 2017

6th April, 2017

Congratulations to Dave Cousins, whose book WAITING FOR GONZO (OUP, 2013) has been shortlisted for the German Youth Literary Prize 2017, in the Young Adult category.

The prize, founded in 1957, is awarded annually and celebrates outstanding works of children’s and young adult literature – both German language and translated foreign language titles – across four categories: picture books, children’s, YA and non-fiction.

Following the shortlisting, the jurors will decide the winner of each category, to be announced at a ceremony on 13th October during the 2017 Frankfurt Book Fair.

Dave is the author of 15 DAYS WITHOUT A HEAD (OUP, 2012) – winner of the Sunday Times Children’s Book of the Week, and nominated for the 2013 Carnegie Medal and Branford Boase Award – CHARLIE MERRICK’S MISFITS IN FOULS, FRIENDS AND FOOTBALL (OUP, 2014) and CHARLIE NERRICK’S MISFITS IN I’M A NOBODY, GET ME OUT OF HERE (OUP, 2015). His books can best be described as “teen realism with humour and heart”.
