Sjeng Scheijen is an independent scholar and historian of Russian art. He has curated a number of exhibitions, notably ‘Russian Landscape in the Age of Tolstoy’ at the National Gallery, London. He was an advisor on the major exhibition on Diaghilev and the Ballet Russes at the Victoria and Albert Museum in 2010. His biography of Diaghilev was published in 2009. He has most recently been cultural attaché at the Royal Netherlands Embassy in Moscow. He lives in Amsterdam.
