Itamar Orlev was born in 1975 in Jerusalem. He has published short stories in prominent Israeli literary magazines, such as Moznaim, Massmerim and Mitaam. His script for a play won first prize at the annual Beit Lessin Theatre Open Stage festival, while his debut novel, Bandit, was awarded the 2015 Sapir Prize for First Novel. He is a graduate of the Scriptwriting Program at Sam Spiegel Film School in Jerusalem and earned a BA in History at Tel Aviv University. He works as an editor and ghostwriter and lives in Berlin with his wife and two sons.
