Anna Bowles
Anna Bowles grew up in Cheltenham, and after studying English at Oxford, settled in London to seek her fortune in the publishing industry. She has worked as an editor, freelance or in-house, for most of the major houses, and ghostwritten many children’s books.
As a child, she wondered why the supposedly ordinary office block behind the wire fence at the back of the park had giant radar dishes in its yard. This was of course GCHQ, and the convenient presence of a former agent running the school stationery cupboard led Anna to a lifelong interest in Russian culture.
Currently she is working on an adult novel following the adventures of two female Bolsheviks during the turbulent year of the Russian revolution. She recently spent a month in Vladivostok, because she could.
